A Still Small Voice

Dear friends,

Today I am reminded of the tender and loving compassion the Lord has on you and me. These are in difficult times of living and sometimes, they will get the best of you.

Have you responded to fear, anger, rejection, abandonment, depression, loneliness, and pain in a negative tone that has lead to conflict within yourself? Have you felt like running a thousand miles away just to get rid of the stress and anguish? Do you feel like you’re the only one still standing and believing God for a miracle? Do you feel like God is still and quiet and has delayed His answer?

Oh how I feel your pain! There are so many voices out there that will lead to a certain emotion that will trigger parts in your soul that make you tremble.

Yesterday, as I stood in my dining room and I felt like my world was falling apart as the voices screamed out to me, in my face, “Just quit!!! If you will quit then you will have peace!” The voice was so in my face. It brought guilt, anger, weariness, heaviness and pain to my heart. Then I heard another voice that was quiet, still and loving and it called out to me, “COME…….I will give you rest……I will cause you to endure……I will cause you to keep standing!” Then the Lord spoke to me and said, “Janet, when the enemy speaks, he screams, his tone is abrupt, loud and in your face. He has always tried to condemn my sons and daughters but my LOVE conquers him every time. Don’t listen to the abrupt, loud, and condemning voices for I have weaved in your DNA a longing to hear my still, small voice.”

A STILL SMALL VOICE………YES!!!!!! Then I went to the Word and read the story again about Elijah.

1 Kings 19:11-13

God’s Revelation to Elijah

11 Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

Then it dawned on me what was happening! Listen to this: The Lord is passing by you right now. He is near to you. The strong wind is blowing, while you are in a cave of despair and complacency, and hiding from your real emotions. You have felt lonely and afraid and you don’t know what to do. The enemy is beating up your emotions in a wind of guilt, unworthiness, uselessness, low down, beat down, hopelessness and powerless! But remember, the Lord is passing by and He’s not in the wind that is tearing you to pieces! He’s not in the earthquake that has you trembling in fear! He’s not in the fire that is trying to consume you! But yet, there He is……looking at you in the cave and calling for you to come out with His loving, kind, still, small voice! Here’s the question He’s asking you, “What are you doing here? Did I tell you to run and hide in a cave of fear and depression?”

Today I feel the Lord calling you out of that weary, cold place of isolation that involves fear and torment…….it involves inadequacy, defeat, suffocation, shortness of breath and guilt!

The Lord is calling you out! It’s time to resist the voice that is in your face, accusing you, lying to you and beating you up! The Lord is calling you to come out and stand in HIS HOLY PRESENCE!

Look, you have been made MORE THAN A CONQUEROR through the blood of Jesus Christ! You are going to get through this! There is nothing that can separate you from the love of God!

Romans 8:35-39

35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 Just as it is written, “For Your sake we are being put to death all day long; We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

37 But in all these things we have been made MORE than conquerors through Him who loves us.

38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Get ready for the LORD to show up like never before! Remember…..when the LORD speaks, He speaks with endearment, love, compassion and power! His voice is not abrupt and in your face to bring shame, guilt, and every other negative emotion you can imagine! A revelation of HIS love will change your life!
