Isaiah 61:7
instead of your shame you will receive a DOUBLE portion. And instead of disgrace you will REJOICE in your inheritance!! And you will inherit a DOUBLE portion in your land and ever lasting joy will be yours.
Dear friends!
Today I am reminded by the Lord Jesus, that there is NOTHING that is unseen by HIM!! Have you been looked over, forgotten about, abused, abandoned, rejected or betrayed? Have you gone through a season of loss and yet you have held your peace!! You have not taken matters in your own hands but you have trusted God!! This is a Word for you. God will give you double for your trouble. Jesus loves you so much. He is behind the scenes working things out just for you.
DON’T STOP READING! You’ve got to read to the very last word! It’s important!
Jesus repeated in the synagogue from the book of Isaiah……
Luke 4:16-22
He came to Nazareth, where he had grown up, and went according to his custom into the synagogue on the sabbath day. He stood up to read
and was handed a scroll of the prophet Isaiah. He unrolled the scroll and found the passage where it was written:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me
to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.”
Rolling up the scroll, he handed it back to the attendant and sat down, and the eyes of all in the synagogue looked intently at him.
He said to them, “Today this scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.”
And all spoke highly of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth…..
Jesus said these are the things He was sent to do:
- 1. To bring GOOD NEWS to the afflicted….He is the Good News…He is HOPE……
- 2. To HEAL the broken-hearted…to bind up their wounds……
- 3. To break the strong-holds….to set free those who are behind prison doors….prison doors of sin, fear, anxiety, worry, sickness, racism, prejudice, financial strongholds of debt and
- premature death…….…..
- 4. To recover the sight of the blind……to open blinded eyes….to open the eyes of the heart so they can receive the gift of Jesus…..
- 5. To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord……Since the day of Pentecost in the book of Acts….. we are now walking in the acceptable year of the Lord…….YES even in 2020 in the middle
- of a pandemic and angry world…….
- 6. To comfort ALL who mourn……..
- 7. To give you beauty for ashes…….
- 8. To give you gladness instead of mourning…….
- 9. To give you the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness
- 10. He said you would build, raise up and repair the breach and you will be called the ministers of God……
Then in the book of Isaiah….he goes on to say that the Lord was available and ready to do all these things, but then He adds even more to it!
Isaiah 61:6-8
You will eat the wealth of nations, And in their riches you will boast…..instead of your shame you will receive a DOUBLE portion. And instead of disgrace you will REJOICE in your inheritance!! And you will inherit a DOUBLE portion in your land and ever lasting joy will be yours. For I, the Lord, love justice, I hate robbery in the burnt offering; And I will faithfully give them their recompense, And I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
Jesus fulfilled this scripture to the fullest. As we look out in the world, you make think that God has overlooked injustice and He has overlooked you! But….I want to tell you today….you have not been overlooked! GOD LOVES JUSTICE! GOD IS AT WORK. You don’t have to take matters in your own hands! Instead, let’s be like what the Lord has called us to be like in verse 4:
Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins, They will raise up the former devastations, And they will repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations.
Remember…..God HATES robbery and He LOVES justice!
If I could say one thing to George Floyd it would be this:
George, Jesus loves you with an everlasting love, He sees the injustice, He sees the pain and abuse of your people, and He will give them their recompense…..he will repay them and give compensation for their pain…double for their trouble…. and make restitution and requital for damage and injury to your people.
Dear Lord Jesus,
I come to You today and I ask You to touch and heal our land! Heal the hearts of Your people like You said in the book of Isaiah. I pray for the hate to stop….I pray for the eyes of the hearts to be opened. I pray that Your Spirit will move upon our land and heal our land of prejudice and racism, hate, anger and violence. I pray for Your will to be done here on earth as it is in heaven. I cry out to you today to HEAL OUR LAND! Double for the trouble and make the devil regret the day he ever laid his hands upon our nation. I pray for protection over our cities, our nation and our president. I pray for governors and majors to have wisdom on what to do when they don’t know what to do. You are the HEALER and WAY-MAKER! Have Your way oh Lord and move upon our land and HEAL US!!! In Jesus Name!!!
