God was performing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, so that handkerchiefs or aprons were even carried from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out.
Dear Friends! I want to share with you a revelation that I had from this scripture in the book of Acts! GOD WAS PERFORMING EXTRAORDINARY MIRACLES…..by the hands of Paul!
What exactly was it? What was Paul doing that was more than just a “miracle” that would make it extraordinary? Let’s take a journey together to learn what this means!
To do Extraordinary things is beyond what is usual, ordinary, regular, or established, it is above what you could think, comprehend or imagine! Paul did extraordinary things because he believed that God could do anything! Extraordinary in Greek means to strike (hit the mark, “spot on,” “hit the bulls-eye”); to light upon, fall in line with; “happen to find oneself,” “arriving at a destination (mark, target),” i.e. “ready to take part in (step into) a pre-pared benefit.”
The Bible says that Paul did extra-ordinary miracles….something out of the usual miracles! I have a question for you: when’s the last time you’ve witnessed a miracle? Because in Paul’s day, miracles were a part of his ministry and it was normal. He expected Jesus to show up when he prayed. He knew Jesus would not forsake him or leave him alone. He was convinced that God was for him and fighting battles he could not see. He was determined to spread the Good News of the Gospel all over the world!
Miracle is defined on dictionary.com as: an effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that surpasses all known human or natural powers and is ascribed to a supernatural cause…….such an effect or event manifesting or considered as a work of God.
Paul worked under the might hand of God, demonstrating the power of God by FAITH!
Miracles in Greek: dýnamis: to be able, have ability……ability to perform; for the believer, power to achieve through the Lord’s inherent ability (power).
FRIENDS……GOD HAS NOT CHANGED! HE IS STILL WORKING MIRACLES!

Let’s look at this now a little closer! God displayed His power through the hands of Paul. Paul’s hands became the hands of Jesus to touch people in a broken world. God also wants to display His power in your life, by your hands, touching broken people in a broken world! When you believe God for this, then, like Paul, extraordinary things will occur. For Paul, it was clothing that touched his body such as apron’s and handkerchiefs. By laying this piece of cloth on the sick, they were healed and demonic spirits were expelled!
For Peter, it was his shadow!
Acts 5:15-16 New Living Translation
As a result of the apostles’ work, sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that Peter’s shadow might fall across some of them as he went by.
Crowds came from the villages around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those possessed by evil spirits, and they were all healed.
Today I am praying for you! I am praying that the miracle working power of God will fill your life! I pray that extra-ordinary things will occur! As you spend time with God, your faith will arise! As you read His Word, pray, journal, worship and GO INTO HIS PRESENCE…you will feel the supernatural power of God fill your life.
A few weeks ago I was leading our youth service by showing them the series, THE CHOSEN, then leading a small group afterwards. But after the episode was over, I felt the supernatural power of God rush over me! I begin to prophesy to them, tell them they were chosen, I began to work “outside” of myself! Results that night were evil spirits began to manifest, 16 youth gave their hearts to the Lord for the first time, words of knowledge were given out and GOD MARKED THEIR LIFE!
IT WAS A MIRACLE! It was not planned! God just showed up to a generation that is broken, confused and lost and HE told me to LOVE THEM UNCONDITIONALLY and He would show up every time!
Today God wants to perform a miracle in your life! Maybe you have a broken heart and you are grieving! Jesus is close to you right now! He wants to touch the depth of your grief and pain! God wants to display His power among those who are crying out to Him! Today God is moving mountains with His Love and giving rain in a dry dessert place! Jesus loves you and He will not leave you empty and broken! So I speak over your life to lift up your head! Lift up your eyes!! Lift up your heart! The Lord your God is mighty in battle and He is a mighty warrior! He is fighting battles and making ways in the wilderness! Today God wants to perform extraordinary miracles in your life!
