God Wants to Add To Your Life, Not Take Away
Hey you guys! Thanksgiving is right around the corner!
And I have a word that I want to share with you that will carry you throughout Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years! Here’s the word! GOD WANTS TO ADD TO YOUR LIFE, NOT TAKE AWAY!
There are some things that God will purge or trim away out of your life, but it will always cause growth! For instance, the grape vine has to be trimmed back in order for it to be healthy and grow! But God is not wanting to destroy you, put sickness on you, steal from you, take away from you or leave you depressed, desolate and alone! No! God is a God of multiplication and He’s wanting to add and multiply in your life, not subtract and divide.
As you know some of my own story, I cam from a divorced and divided family. I was abused, abandoned, thrown in foster care, (in the middle of puberty) and it left me lost, bankrupt, empty, exhausted, depleted, destitute, impoverished and broken. This is just part of my story! And we ALL have a story to tell.
You may ask me “how” I overcame and I would tell you, little by little, day by day, walking with God, renewing my mind, and filling up on the Holy Spirit.
Here’s the key: Sometimes LIFE can leave you lacking, hurting and empty! Just look at this pandemic! It’s not what has been done to you by someone, it’s LIFE happening right before your eyes and you can’t do anything about it. Covid, suicide, death, murder, freak accidents and so much more has touched our lives and now we are a people who are broken.
The definition for broken is: not functioning properly! Imagine that!
Have you ever been so thirsty or hungry, just to go to the snack machine and it says, “out of order”? Well, that is how the pandemic has left a lot of us ALL OVER THE WORLD!
BROKEN, NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY, OUT OF ORDER!
John 10:10 says the thief, the devil, comes to kill, steal, and destroy, but Jesus has come to give you life, and life abundantly.
Jesus wants to ADD to your life and MULTIPLY YOU! Satan wants to deplete you, wear you out, leave you empty, subtract and divide!
There are 5 things you can do that will start adding to your life that will create multiplication!
- Give Your life to Jesus! Your whole heart! This starts the process.
John 10:10 Jesus has come to give life, abundant life,
Luke 19:10 The Message
Jesus said, “Today is salvation day in this home! Here he is: Zacchaeus, son of Abraham! For the Son of Man came to find and restore the lost.”
When you get a chance read John 3:14-18 from The Message
2. Be grateful, heart of gratitude and use your voice for the good, to celebrate people and life!
Jeremiah 30:19
‘From them will proceed thanksgiving
And the voice of those who celebrate;
And I will multiply them and they will not be diminished;
I will also honor them and they will not be insignificant.
3. Learn to enjoy PEACE! Strive for it.
Refuse to live in torment. Refuse to live and hang out with toxic people who are subtracting from your life. Refuse to be negative or to think on negative things. Exchange your negative thoughts for positive thoughts, a positive outcome!
Acts 9:31
So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace, being built up; and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase.
4. Read the word of God and adhere to the teachings of Jesus. Try to find the heart beat of Jesus. This is where you will find God performing miracles in your life.
Matthew 15:32-39
And Jesus called His disciples to Him, and said, “I feel compassion for the people, because they have remained with Me now three days and have nothing to eat; and I do not want to send them away hungry, for they might faint on the way.” The disciples *said to Him, “Where would we get so many loaves in this desolate place to satisfy such a large crowd?” And Jesus *said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven, and a few small fish.
Jesus wanted to feed the people and not leave them hungry. His resources came from a little boy who had some bread and fish that seemed to be insignificant, but not to Jesus. Jesus took what he had and MULTIPLIED IT!
THAT’S WHAT JESUS WANTS TO DO WITH YOU!
He doesn’t want to leave you empty and barren! No! He wants to fill you up to OVERFLOW~
5. Tell your story:
Revelation 12: 7-12 Message
War broke out in Heaven. Michael and his Angels fought the Dragon. The Dragon and his Angels fought back, but were no match for Michael. They were cleared out of Heaven, not a sign of them left. The great Dragon—ancient Serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, the one who led the whole earth astray—thrown out, and all his Angels thrown out with him, thrown down to earth. Then I heard a strong voice out of Heaven saying,
“Salvation and power are established! Kingdom of our God, authority of his Messiah! The Accuser of our brothers and sisters thrown out, who accused them day and night before God.
They defeated him through:
- The blood of the Lamb
- And the bold word of their witness(testimony).
- They weren’t in love with themselves; (Not too scared to talk to people about Jesus)
- They were willing to die for Christ. ( or scared to death to do something, they did it anyway).
Look, when you understand what Jesus did for you through HIS blood, you will start realizing quickly that His heart toward you is to never leave you empty. Jesus wants to give you an abundant life, a FULL life. JESUS wants you to be healthy in spirit, soul and body! He wants you to have a healed, healthy life that will grow and flourish. Jesus is interested in your growth. He wants to ADD to your life, not SUBTRACT!
Acts 12:24
But the word of the Lord continued to grow and to be multiplied.
Hebrews 6:14
saying, “I will surely bless you and I will surely multiply you.”
Genesis 12:2
And I will make you a great nation,
And I will bless you,
And make your name great;
And so you shall be a blessing;
And the purpose of this is so that you will be a BLESSING TO EVERYONE YOU MEET!
And MANY PEOPLE WILL COME TO KNOW JESUS…..BECAUSE OF WHAT HE DID FOR YOU AND IN YOU!
