Romans 8:1
Therefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Dear Friends,
Today I want to share a fresh WORD! Romans 8 is full of meat that will bring life to your spirit! I want to pin point a few words in this text to bring a word to you that expresses God’s heart toward you! The Lord wants to remind you that you belong to HIM! I hear the Lord saying to my heart today, “Remember who you are and to Whom you belong!”
Listen, God is setting you free from everything that holds you in bondage. To be in bondage is to be in slavery! Pay close attention to what the first verse says in Romans, “there is no condemnation for those who are IN Christ Jesus.”
In Greek Condemnation is: katákrima, “the results of judgment”. It conveys grave punishment which is perceived as richly deserved, matching the condemnation (guilt).
We have been set FREE from the results and consequences of judgement because we are IN Christ Jesus!
You are IN (inside) of Jesus! Wherever He goes, you go, whatever He says, you say, however HE thinks, you think! Why? Because you are now inside of HIM!
Not only are you inside of Jesus, but Jesus HIMSELF is inside of you!
However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
The same Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead lives INSIDE of you! Imagine that!
For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons and daughters of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons and daughters by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.
Did you know that “slavery” has a spirit of fear behind it? Think about that! The Word says that you are no longer under the influence of fear (which is slavery and bondage) but because the Spirit lives in us, we are now children of God! We are set free, therefore, there is no condemnation! We belong to HIM! The Spirit testifies! He bears witness that you belong to Jesus!
Did you know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now? (Romans 8:23) That includes the earth, the atmosphere, all humans, all animals etc. In the middle of the groan you can easily lose your hope and give up! You guys! You are still in a pandemic and a history changing election and so many people are losing hope! But the Word tells you to never give up hope. Romans 8: 24-25 says that it is in hope you have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? But if you hope for what you do not see, through perseverance you wait eagerly for it.
You wait with expectation! You wait for the Spirit to DO what the heart of the Father desires. Remember, you are INSIDE Christ Jesus, and the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives INSIDE of you!
So, what are you waiting for? You are waiting for deliverance WITH hope! Do not give up your hope today! Satan is reminding you of all your flaws and trying to distract you from the FACT…you are a child of God! You are sons and daughters! You can not be snatched out of His hand! You can not be separated from HIM! You have the victory inside of Jesus!
When you feel your flesh is failing you and weakness seems to be your main emotion, understand that even in your weakness His strength is made perfect! The Holy Spirit also helps you in your weakness; for you do not know what to pray for as you should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for you with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27
Some things are too deep for words to express, but the Spirit knows! And guess what? God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
So what else is there to say then?
Romans 8: 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
There is nothing that can separate you from the love of God! There is not a storm, a trial, a failure or success that can separate you from Him. Likewise, this election and pandemic can not separate you from His unending love! It is the Love of God that cast away, defeats, and tears down the spirit of enslavement which is fear!
Don’t let anger, struggle, fear, frustration, anxiety and worry get a foothold in your life but on the contrary, let LOVE set you free and let the Spirit groan through you in prayer as you submit to the will of God for your life, your city, and your country! In Jesus name! Amen!
